VR portable hut

Model: Kent Smiley

We take a look at a classic piece of Victorian Railways infrastructure: the Rutherglen VR portable hut. These drawings are based on how I would tackle the build using styrene (plastic) to replicate this small building found all around Victoria at country stations.

For those following my plans (see below) with the plastic scratch-building method, the recommended styrene sizes are listed below.

- Evergreen 2030
- Evergreen 4525
- Evergreen 100 (Strip)
- Stryene glue

Of course, this is a versatile project—I don’t mind if you choose to make it out of timber, cardboard, or even 3D print it!

Recommended Paints (Airbrushed)
- SMS Paints Insignia Red
- SMS Paints Light Stone
